Expected use

MAISON POMMERY & ASSOCIÉS offers reservations and payment on this website for tours of the Estate (including exhibitions, cellars, vineyards) and Villa Demoiselle, which may include champagne tastings.

Champagne is an alcoholic beverage and should be consumed in moderation. It is intended for adults and is not recommended for pregnant women. Ethanol is not considered a hazard as it is inherent in the product and indicated on the label.

MAISON POMMERY & ASSOCIÉS communicates on its website, in a transparent way, about the expected uses and the way to consume its Champagne. The producer's responsibility is limited to the normal and expected uses of the products. By these terms, we mean:

• the conditions of conservation, of putting in temperature, of opening the bottle ;

• the conditions of consumption of the product.

Certain practices such as exposure to high temperatures (bottle in the sun or in the trunk of a vehicle in summer) or low temperatures (in a freezer), opening by sabrage of a sparkling wine, consumption directly from the neck are not considered normal and expected uses of the product but reasonably foreseeable. As Champagne is an alcoholic beverage, it is recommended to drink it in moderation. It is intended for adults and not recommended for pregnant women. Ethanol is not considered a hazard as it is inherent in the product and is indicated on the label. The responsibility of MAISON POMMERY & ASSOCIÉS is limited to the normal and expected uses concerning:

• The conditions of conservation.

• Handling conditions: Champagne is packaged in glass bottles that are resistant to high internal pressure. However, glass being a memory material, the bottles must be handled with care, avoiding any excessive accumulation of shocks which would lead to a weakening of the glass and thus a risk of breakage.

• Temperature conditions: the bottle must not be subjected to temperature variations. Exposure to high temperatures (bottle in the sun, in the trunk of a car in summer, ...) or low temperatures (storage in the freezer) is not considered as a normal use. Champagne should be served chilled but not iced, ideally between 6 and 8°C.

• Conditions for opening the bottle :

- Make sure that no one is in the opening field of the bottle,

- Remove the upper part of the cap,

- Remove the liner at the last moment as it prevents the cork from being expelled. Detach it while holding the cork,

- Tilt the bottle and hold the cork with one hand. Caution: Do not point a demasked bottle at a face. Rotate the bottle rather than the cap, - Opening by sabering is not considered normal use.

• Conditions of consumption of the product: Champagne is best consumed in a flute. Consumption at the neck is not recommended except for the quarts which are also intended to be drunk through a straw (POP).

Extended Producer Responsibility
